The architecture office Knapkiewicz & Fickert was founded in Zurich in 1992 by Kaschka Knapkiewicz and Axel Fickert, four years later they were admitted to the BSA (Association of Swiss Architects). In 2005, the Federal Office of Culture awarded Knapkiewicz & Fickert the Prix Meret Oppenheim. The practical work in the architectural office was always accompanied by teaching assignments. In particular, they taught together for a long time at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences Winterthur ZHAW. Today, Knapkiewicz & Fickert is one of the most important architectural offices in the city of Zurich and is mainly concerned with residential construction.
Das Architekturbüro Knapkiewicz & Fickert wurde 1992 von Kaschka Knapkiewicz und Axel Fickert in Zürich gegründet, vier Jahre später wurden sie in den BSA (Bund Schweizer Architekten) aufgenommen. Vom Bundesamt für Kultur wurde Knapkiewicz & Fickert 2005 der Prix Meret Oppenheim verliehen. Die praktische Tätigkeit im Architekturbüro wurde stets von Lehraufträgen begleitet. Insbesondere lehrten sie zusammen für längere Zeit an der Zürcher Hochschule Winterthur ZHAW. Heute gehören Knapkiewicz & Fickert zu den bedeutenden Architekturbüros der Stadt Zürich und beschäftigen sich mehrheitlich mit dem Wohnungsbau.
