Peter Celsing (29.01.1920 - 16.03.1974) was a Swedish architect who was well known especially for his church buildings. He received his vocational training at the Technical University in Stockholm and at the Art Academy. His travels, which took him to the Middle East and the Mediterranean, gave him significant impetus for his work as an architect. At the beginning of his career he worked as an employee for the architects Ivarn Tengbom and Paul Hedqvist. Later he was also an assistant for Sigurd Lewerentz. Between 1948 and 1952, Peter Celsing worked as the head of the architecture office for the Stockholm trams, designing various suburban stations on the Stockholm subway. In 1960, Peter Celsing became a professor at the Technical University in Stockholm. His most famous buildings include the churches in Vällingby (a suburb of Stockholm) and Härlanda (near Gothenburg), and the Kulturhuset in Stockholm.

Seine berufliche Ausbildung erhielt er an der Technischen Hochschule in Stockholm sowie an der Kunsthochschule. Seine Reisen, welche ihn in den Mittleren Osten und den Mittelmeerraum führten, gaben ihm bedeutende Impulse für seine Arbeit als Architekt. Am Anfang seiner Laufbahn arbeitete er im Anstellungsverhältnis für die Architekten Ivarn Tengbom und Paul Hedqvist. Später war er zudem Assistent von Sigurd Lewerentz. In den Jahren 1948 bis 1952 arbeitete Peter Celsing als Chef für das Architekturbüro der Stockholmer Strassenbahnen, und entwarf dabei verschiedene Vorortstationen der Stockholmer U-Bahn. Im Jahre 1960 wurde Peter Celsing zum Professor an der Technischen Hochschule in Stockholm. Zu seinen bekanntesten Gebäuden gehören die Kirchen in Vällingby (einem Vorort von Stockholm) und Härlanda (bei Göteborg), sowie das Kulturhuset in Stockholm.
