1984 Marianne Burkhalter and Christian Sumi founded their joint office. They became known particular for their wooden buildings
and the use of color in contemporary architecture. After more than 30 years, Burkhalter & Sumi belong to the best known architects
in the Swiss architectural scene. Their commissions have changed, and became larger.
As a consequence up to twenty people work in the international operating architectural firm.
