The Norwegian architects Kjell Lund and Nils Slaatto founded the joint architectural office Arkitektkontoret MNAL Kjell Lund og Nils Slaato (ANS) in 1958 after winning the competition for the agricultural school in Ås. With the projects for the Asker City Hall (1964) and the church St.Halvard with a monastery in Oslo (1966), Lund & Slaatto were able to establish themselves as one of the leading architectural offices in Norway. After various competitive successes in the 1970s and 1980s - including Veritas plant in Høvik, Sølvberget Cultural Center in Stavanger and the headquarters of Norges Bank in Oslo - Lund & Slaatto Arkitekter AS was founded in 1987. In the 1990s, Lund & Slaatto saw a gradual change of generations with changes in ownership. This also changed the profile of the company that still exists today. The original founders of the architecture firm, Nils Slaatto and Kjell Lund, died in 1997 and 2013, respectively.
Die beiden norwegischen Architekten Kjell Lund und Nils Slaatto hatten 1958 das gemeinsame Büro Arkitektkontoret MNAL Kjell Lund og Nils Slaato (ANS) gegründet, nachdem sie den Wettbewerb für die Landwirtschaftsschule in Ås gewonnen hatten. Mit den Projekten für das Asker Gemeindehaus (1964) und die Kirche St.Halvard mit Kloster in Oslo (1966) konnten sich Lund & Slaatto als eines der führenden Architekturbüros in Norwegen etablieren. Nach verschiedenen Wettbewerbserfolgen in den 1970er und 1980er Jahren - darunter das Veritas Verk in Høvik, das Sølvberget Kulturzentrum in Stavanger und der Hauptsitz der Norges Bank in Oslo - wurde 1987 die Lund & Slaatto Arkitekter AS gegründet. In den 1990er Jahren vollzog sich bei Lund & Slaatto ein allmählicher Generationenwechsel mit Veränderungen in den Eigentümerverhältnissen. Daruch veränderte sich auch das Profil der Firma, die noch heute besteht. Die ursprünglichen Gründer des Architekturbüros, Nils Slaatto und Kjell Lund verstarben in den Jahren 1997 respektive 2013.
