Founded in 1993 by Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries in Rotterdam, MVRDV today belongs to the globally working architectural firms. MVRDV soon became well known for works such as the Wozoco Home for elderly, the EXPO pavilion in Hannover or the Silodamm Apartment Building in Amsterdam. The work of MVRDV not only deals with architecture, but also with large scale urban masterplans. 1998 FARMAX was publishd as an manfisto of works and ideas by MVRDV, followed by several other publications. In 2013 the first monograph of the built works by MVRDV was published.
Im Jahr 1993 von Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries in Rotterdam gegründet, gehört MVRDV heute zu den weltweit agierenden Architekturfirmen. Bereits kurz nach der Gründung wurde das Büro bekannt für Arbeiten wie das Wozoco Altersheim, den Pavillon auf der EXPO 2000 in Hannover oder das Silodamm Wohngebäude in Amsterdam. MVRDV arbeitet nicht ausschliesslich im Bereich der Architektur, sondern entwickelt auch städtische Masterpläne im grossen Massstab. Mit FARMAX veröffentlichte MVRDV im Jahr 1998 ein Manifest der Arbeiten und Ideen des Büros, gefolgt von verschiedenen weiteren Publikationen. Die erste Monographie über die gebauten Werke von MVRDV erschien im Jahr 2013.
