Venice Biennale Ticket Booth

For the 1952 Biennale, Carlo Scarpa designed a small unroofed space in the central pavilion as well as the gateway and entrance booths. One of them is a demountable ticket office, made of washed concrete slabs, brown-painted steel, glass and wood. The enclosure is made of double-glazed mesh-wire glass, which is mounted on wood and steel frames. The small construction is designed in the shape of a 120-degree arc. The most prominent feature of the ticket booth is the lens-shaped cantilevered roof, featuring a steel and wood structure with a canvas ceiling. On the upper side waterproof canvas is used as roofing material. The roof is supported by three iron masts, which are sheathed in wood.
Für die Biennale 1952 entwarf Carlo Scarpa einen kleinen unüberdachten Raum im zentralen Pavillon sowie den Eingang mit Ticket Kabinen. Eine von diesen Kabinen ist ein demontierbares Ticketbüro aus Waschbetonplatten, braun lackiertem Stahl, Glas und Holz. Die Umfassungswände bestehen aus Doppelverglasungen mit Drahtglas, welche auf Holz- und Stahlrahmen montiert sind. Die kleine Konstruktion ist in der Form eines 120-Grad-Bogens gestaltet. Das auffälligste Merkmal des Ticketstandes ist das linsenförmige, auskragende Dach. Dieses besteht aus einr Stahl-und Holzkonstruktion mit einer Leinwand Decke. Auf der Oberseite wurde wasserdichte Leinwand als Dachmaterial verwendet. Das Dach wird von drei Eisenmasten getragen, welche mit Holz ummantelt sind.
