Hans Schwippert war ein bedeutender deutscher Architekt der des Wiederaufbaus. Ab dem Jahr 1919 studierte Hans Schwippert Architektur. Zu Beginn an den Technischen Hochschule von Hannover und Darmstadt, und später an der Technischen Hochschule Stuttgart. Dort diplomierte Hans Schwippert im Jahr 1923 bei Paul Schmitthenner. Im Jahr 1924 zog es Hans Schwippert nach Berlin, wo er im Atelier von Erich Mendelsohn arbeitete. In Berlin machte er 1925 auch Bekanntschaft mit Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. Rund drei Jahre später holte ihn Rudolf Schwarz an die Werkkunstschule Aachen, wo er als Lehrer des Vorkurses und der Entwurfsklassen arbeitete. Im Jahr 1930 trat Hans Schwippert dem Deutschen Werkbund bei. Bis zur Schliessung der Werkkunstschule Aachen durch die Nationalsozialisten im Jahre 1934, arbeitete Hans Schwippert mit Rudolf Schwarz und Johannes Krahn zusammen. In den Jahren 1934 bis 1938 baute Hans Schwippert ein Atelierhaus in der Eifel für seinen Bruder. Hans Schwippert prägte die deutsche Nachkriegsmoderne durch zahlreiche Bauten, aber auch durch seine Schriften. Er lebte bis zu seinem Tode im Jahr 1973 in der Stadt Düsseldorf.
Hans Schwippert was an important German architect of the reconstruction era. From 1919 Hans Schwippert studied architecture. At first at the Technical University of Hanover and Darmstadt, and later at the Technical University of Stuttgart. Hans Schwippert graduated there in 1923 under Paul Schmitthenner. In 1924 Hans Schwippert moved to Berlin, where he worked in Erich Mendelsohn's studio. In 1925 he also made the acquaintance of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in Berlin. Around three years later, Rudolf Schwarz brought him to the Werkkunstschule Aachen, where he worked as a teacher of the preliminary course and the design classes. In 1930 Hans Schwippert joined the Deutscher Werkbund. Until the closing of the Werkkunstschule Aachen by the National Socialists in 1934, Hans Schwippert worked with Rudolf Schwarz and Johannes Krahn. Between 1934 and 1938 Hans Schwippert built a studio house in the Eifel for his brother. Hans Schwippert shaped post-war German modernism through numerous buildings, but also through his writings. He lived in the city of Düsseldorf until his death in 1973.
