Tampella Residential Building
Ilmarinkatu / Petsamonkatu / Kaupinkatu, Tampere
1945 - 1949
In the finnish town Tampere Alvar Aalto designed the residential und commercial buildings for the Tampella Oy.
The scheme consists of several buildings, which contain mainly apartments, and only a few commercial units towards the street.
On the exterior, the buildings are of a moderate architectural language, with hipped roofs and façades made of red brick.
